DUO CASELOAD OBSTETRICS

Extra attention for you and your partner

We supervise approximately 5 to 6 pregnant women per month per midwife. This is about half of what is the norm in the Netherlands. So we spend extra time and attention on our clients to get to know you and your partner better and to provide more individualized care.

You will have your own personal midwife who works in a team with a second midwife. Your personal midwife will see you most of the checks and coordinate care with her. She is the link between you and (possibly) other healthcare providers such as a gynecologist, doctor, lactation consultant and consultation office.

The second midwife in the team is her back guard if your own midwife is free or unavailable. We therefore think it is important that you get to know both midwives, because one of the two is at the time of your delivery. This method is called duo caseload obstetrics.

Obstetrician. She has an enormous passion for everything related to mindfulness, meditation and personal development. In addition, she knows an awful lot about a healthy lifestyle, sustainability and nutrition. For both you and your baby!

Iris

Obstetrician & Contraception Specialist. Where Iris enjoys beautiful in-depth conversations at the office hours, she prefers to do as little as possible when she is born. Watch, observe, encourage, and only medically act when necessary. Iris further guides you in choosing the right contraception and also installs spirals with us.

Merel knows the true art of making someone feel comfortable. She has a listening ear for everyone and also brings a good dose of humor to appointments.
Merel hosts our New Life Circle events and gives you a glimpse of your baby during the fun ultrasounds.

Sarah

Obstetrician & Versionist. She was the only native of Rotterdam to be educated in Amsterdam. Sarah is the peace and quiet itself. Her calm and patience is her superpower! In addition to being a passionate midwife, she is also a versionist. Is your baby in a breech position? In a holistic & expert way, she knows how to turn babies to a head position.

Marit

Obstetrician & Hypnotherapist.
In addition to being an enthusiastic and knowledgeable midwife, Marit is our in-house hypnotherapist. She knows how to help you create a healthy lifestyle, reduce anxiety and stress and even childbirth pain in a very nice way. Marit is also a regular part of the 'New Life Circle' events and also performs fun ultrasounds.

Elena

Obstetrician. Elena is one of our most enthusiastic midwives. Always with a smile on her face. Elena has a great empathetic heart. In 2024, she will study sexuality so that she will be able to provide even more guidance to questions and problems related to this topic in practice.
